We believe that students should have the opportunity to make informed choices that guide their learning and tap into their interests. This student-centered philosophy is woven throughout Vermont Day School and also reflected in our weekly electives. During this time, students choose from a variety of semester-long options, such as robotics team, school newspaper, cooking class or an approved independent study.
Middle School students also have Advisory periods throughout the week. This is a dedicated time to meet with Advisors and discuss relevant topics, such as school leadership opportunities, social issues or current events. Along with classroom teachers, Advisors also provide study skills support.
