Join us for our annual Winter Concert at the Shelburne Town Hall on Wednesday, December 6th at 6 pm. Students will perform a variety of musical pieces that they have practiced and prepared for this special evening. Hope to see you there!

Vermont Day School will be closed from December 21st (12 pm) through Tuesday, January 2nd for our winter vacation. December 21st is a half day for students. School will resume on Wednesday, January 3rd.

All prospective Kindergarten students are invited to join us for the morning of Thursday, January 18th from 9:00-10:30 am.  This is an opportunity for rising Kindergarten students to experience Vermont Day School firsthand. As a visit day is part of our admissions process, all Kindergarten applicants are asked to attend a Kindergarten Visiting Morning on either January 18th or February 15th to complete the application process prior to the March 1st application deadline.  Pre-registration is required. Join us on Thursday, November 9th @ 6 pm for an informative presentation on Project-Based Learning (PBL). Erin Capps, 5/6 Teacher and Curriculum Coordinator, will share all that parents and educators need to know about PBL. Vermont Day School will be closed the week of November 20-24, 2017 for the Thanksgiving Week holiday. School will resume on Monday, November 27th.

Join the festivities! Vermont Day School will be participating in Shelburne’s Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 29th @ 2 pm. During after school hours, parents will host “design and build” days to work on our float. Hope to see you there!

Join us for our Fall Open House on Sunday, November 5th @ 3 pm. This is an opportunity to meet our teachers, visit the school and learn what makes Vermont Day School unique! Wednesday, October 11th is Vermont Day School’s annual Grandparent & Special Friends Day! The morning will begin at 8:15 am with a welcome coffee followed by classroom visits. This is an opportunity for grandparents & special friends to visit our classrooms and engage in hands-on learning. The morning will conclude at 10:00 am. We hope that many grandparents and special friends will join us! Please RSVP to Libby Macdonald (lmacdonald@vtdayschool.org).

 

There is no school for students on Thursday, October 19th and Friday, October 20th. October 19th is a Professional Development day for faculty and staff. On October 20th, we will be hosting parent/teacher conferences. Look for additional information coming soon in our school newsletter.

All parents are encouraged to attend Curriculum Night on Wednesday, September 13th. This is an opportunity to hear about the exciting and innovative curriculum planned for the school year, learn about classroom routines and guidelines, and ask any questions that you might have about the school year ahead. Additional details about this evening will be shared in the School Newsletter.
