Come one, come all!  Saturday, May 6th (10 am-12 pm) is Green-Up Day at Vermont Day School! Come help us with a variety of family-friendly outdoor projects, organized by our Parent Committee.  Bagels and coffee will be provided. Hope to see you there!

Join us for our Spring Open House event on Sunday, May 7th at 3 pm. This is an opportunity to visit our school, meet our teachers and learn what makes Vermont Day School unique. Please note that Thursday, March 30 is a Professional Development day for our Faculty and Staff.  Friday, March 31st is dedicated to Parent conferences. The K/1 conferences are with parent/teachers only. The 2/3 and 4/5 conferences are student led, and an opportunity for students to discuss their learning progress and share their digital portfolios.

There is no school for students on Thursday, March 30 or Friday, March 31.

We are looking forward to gathering with parents, board members, faculty and staff for a delicious dinner at the Guild Tavern Saturday, April 1st @ 6 pm to celebrate Vermont Day School. Tickets are available at our front desk. The evening is a fundraiser, and all proceeds will benefit the school’s financial aid fund.

During the week of April 3-6, we will be starting a new session of After School enrichment classes. The following will be offered this Spring: Ready, Set, Run! (Mondays), Lego Robotics (Wednesdays) and Jackson Pollock Art (Thursdays). Our daily after school program will also continue to run every afternoon. Our next Parent Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 12 @ 8: 15 am. We will be discussing community service opportunities and planning upcoming school events. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Good coffee and conversation will be provided!

Applications for Admission and Financial Aid for prospective students are due on Wednesday, March 15th. As spaces are limited for the 2017-2018 school year, we encourage all interested families to complete the application process by this date. To learn more, please visit our Admissions page.

We hope you will join us for an all school project-based learning share on Friday, March 24th @ 2 pm. Each class with present their final projects in STEM and Global Studies. Topics of study include: Inuit Culture, Biographies of Vermonters, the Civil War era, Physics of Building, Chemistry and Architecture. It is bound to be an impressive celebration of learning! On Friday, February 24th, the 2/3 and 4/5 classes will be going to Montpelier to visit the Vermont History Museum and the State House. Both locations provide wonderful opportunities for hands-on leaning, and connect with each class’ year-long theme: Vermont (2/3) and United States Now and Then (4/5).

Vermont Day School will be closed for Winter Vacation from Monday, February 27 through Friday, March 3. School will resume on Monday, March 6. Enjoy the vacation week!

We are hosting a Visiting Morning for Kindergarten applicants on Tuesday, February 21 from 9-10:30 am. This is an opportunity for rising Kindergarten students to experience learning at Vermont Day School! Students will participate in literacy, math and art activities, as well as spend time playing outside (weather permitting). Pre-registration is required for this event. Sign-up here.
