Elementary
Vermont Day School’s educational approach is consistently embedded throughout our school. We also recognize that each stage of a child’s learning is unique, and thus tailor our . academic and social emotional goals for each developmental stage.
- Our elementary grades integrate academics into their daily schedule everyday, with an emphasis on developing foundational skills in reading, writing, math and STEM. Students also participate in specialist classes in Art, Music and Spanish.
- Movement, outdoor education, choice time and exploration are all integrated into the daily routines.
- Social-emotional growth and development are highly supported, and students are encouraged to navigate their school day with increasing independence.
- As students progress through our elementary program, they are given increasing opportunities for leadership.
