Calling All Young Inventors…
Information for Students & Parents:
Who can participate? All K-8 Students in Vermont with a desire to be creative, innovative and entrepreneurial. Students from all over the state are welcome to participate!
When & Where will the Fair take place? The Vermont Invention Fair will take place on Saturday, March 28th at BETA in South Burlington, VT.
What is involved? Participants come up with an original invention that addresses a problem or meets a need in our society.
- Inventors research the problem, generate an idea, and then design, build and test their invention.
- Inventors showcase their invention at the Invention Fair and communicate their ideas to the general public and a panel of judges.
- If selected, top inventors from each age group will have the opportunity to participate in the U.S National Invention Convention Fair at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan.
All inventors will:
- Keep a journal to document invention process (journals provided)
- Create a poster display of invention
- Create a model or prototype of invention (model may be working or non-working)
- Prepare an oral presentation for judges (2-3 minutes in length)
