Middle School Program
Our middle school program is designed to capitalize on the changes and growth that occur during adolescent development.
Students are provided more independence and responsibility, along with more choices to guide their learning, all within a carefully crafted middle school structure.
- Academics at the middle school level are rigorous, tailored to individual needs of learners and intended to ensure that students are more than prepared for the transition to high school. Students engage in rich learning opportunities that allow them to think critically and constructively about the world around them.
- Middle school students are offered classes unique to this age group, including the choice of studying Spanish or French, Chorus, Instrumental Band, Electives and Citizenship class.
- 8th grade is a special year at Vermont Day School. Our oldest students participate in a leadership class and engage in a student directed capstone project in the spring prior to graduation.
