Tuition
We recognize that parents make many important decisions about their child’s education. At Vermont Day School, we strive to make our education affordable to a diverse group of families, while balancing our budgetary needs to ensure a healthy and thriving school environment. Vermont Day School offers a need blind admissions process and believes that the cost of education should not impede a student’s desire or ability to attend. Please find information regarding tuition and tuition assistance below.
PreK-8 Tuition
As approved yearly by our Board of Directors, PreK-8 tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is $18,250 per student. Tuition can be paid in one full installment, two installments or seven monthly payments. All payments are interest free.
Act 166 Universal Prekindergarten Funding is applied toward the PreK tuition. Families are eligible for up to 10 hours of publicly funded PreK per week. 2024-2025 public funding is up to $3,884 off of PreK tuition.
Tuition Assistance
Tuition Assistance is available to all current and incoming students on the basis of demonstrated financial need and Vermont Day School’s available funds. Tuition Assistance awards are reviewed annually and are contingent upon continued demonstrated need. Returning student applications (and new applications from siblings of current students) that are submitted on time will be reviewed before awarding aid to new students.
We have selected School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) to manage our tuition assistance application and documentation process. To help you get started, we suggest that you explore the resources and step-by-step guide on the SSS website. You may also refer to our Tuition Assistance Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document.
How to Apply
To be considered for Tuition Assistance in our first round of decisions, please complete your online application (https://www.solutionsbysss.com/parents/) using our school code 9089 by February 1, 2025 for current families and February 15, 2025 for new applicants. After these dates, new and returning family applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as funds are available.
SSS will request a variety of financial documents, such as your household tax returns (and supporting schedules), W-2s, current mortgage and investment statements and evidence of any extenuating financial circumstances. This information is also reviewed by our Tuition Assistance committee, who holds it in strict confidence.
