This year, several of our students who live in Burlington are riding the CCTA bus to Vermont Day School each morning. The bus stops right in front our school and the timing works out perfectly!
Building Our Time Capsule: A VT Day Tradition
To kick off the school year, students at Vermont Day School met for an assembly to decorate this year’s time capsule and add their information to the vessel. They each completed a questionnaire designed to capture their currents interests (i.e. favorite song, book, movie etc.), hopes and dreams. They also measured and recorded their height. It will be exciting to “find” the time capsule at the end of the school year and for the student’s to discover how much they have grown (literally and figuratively!).
October 4- Parent Committee Meeting @ 8:15 am
Please join us for our first Parent Committee meeting of the school year on Tuesday, October 4th @ 8:15 am. This is a an opportunity to get to know other parents and help plan school events. All are welcome to attend!
October 14- Grandparents and Friends Day
We are excited to host our first-ever Grandparents and Friends visiting day! Our special visitors will have the opportunity to visit the classrooms, meet your child’s teachers and classmates, and experience learning at Vermont Day School. Invitations will be mailed to grandparents and friends with event details. We kindly ask that you RSVP for this event.
First Day of School!
Woohoo! We are so excited to start the 2016-2017 school year with amazing students, parents, and faculty on board! We are all looking forward to an outstanding year of learning and growing ahead!
September 9- No School/Labor Day
Vermont Day School will be closed on Monday, September 9th, in observance of Labor Day. School resume on Tuesday, September 10th. Enjoy the long weekend!
September 15- Curriculum Night @ 6 pm
Please join us on Thursday, September 15th at 6 pm for Curriculum Night at Vermont Day School! This is an opportunity to meet with our faculty and learn more about your child’s literacy, global studies, math, STEM, art, music, Spanish and PE curriculum for the upcoming school year. We hope you will join us!
September 16- School Photo Day
Ambient Photography will be coming to Vermont Day School on September 16th to take individual and class photos. Photo order forms will be sent home with your child.
Sensational Summer Camp
Campers at Vermont Day School enjoyed 2 weeks of fun and learning with friends! Highlights included an egg drop challenge, writing and illustrating a camp book, playing in the sprinklers, lots of new tag games and exploration and swimming at the Shelburne Beach. Thank you to Erin Fuchs, Camp Director, and to all our wonderful campers for their participation, enthusiasm and sense of adventure!
August 20- Shelburne Day!
Come visit our table at Shelburne Day this Saturday, August 20th from 9 am-2 pm at the Town Green. Shelburne Day is a fun event, with opportunities to visit local food and craft vendors, listen to great music and learn more about Shelburne businesses. Vermont Day School will have an informational table, along with children’s activities. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
August 29- Student Meet & Greet
Welcome new and returning students! We hope you will join us for a casual gathering on the playground @ 3 pm on August 20th to greet one another and share stories from the summer. Additional details about this event and official invite to follow…. We look forward to seeing you!
August 29-30- Parent/Teacher Conferences
Our teachers look forward to meeting with you before the school year gets underway! This is an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, ask questions and discuss goals for the upcoming school year. Conference sign-ups will be emailed to families in early August.
