Vermont Day School students and teachers enjoyed a fun-filled last week of school to mark the end of the school year! Some of the activities included: Field Day, Egg Drop Challenge, and a field trip to the Shelburne Beach for a picnic and games. Each day, students wore different clothing to show their school spirit (see photo of duct clothing below). It has been a fantastic year of learning and growing at Vermont Day School!
July 18-29- Summer Camp
We are offering 2 fun-filled weeks of summer camp: Explore Your Sense! (July 18-22) and Adaptation Investigation ((July 25-29). Our camps are designed with our school values in mind. Our faculty design each of our camps to maximize learning, creativity and fun! In the daily schedule, structured activities are carefully balanced with free play and outdoor exploration. While students spend time playing and socializing with friends, they will also learn valuable skills that will last a lifetime.
Camps are open to all children in the community, for students entering grades K-2. Parents may choose half or full day option (9 am-12 pm or 9 am-3 pm). After camp hours are also provided until 5:30 pm. Please contact us for additional details and registration information: vtdayschool@gmail.com. We have a few spaces left!

As part of their global studies unit on the world and global citizenship, the K/1 class made panda magnets and paperweights to sell at the Spring Carnival. They also made bookmarks to explain why pandas are endangered and what we can do to help. They are hoping to raise funds to adopt a panda though the World Wildlife Fund.
Spring Carnival Fun!
Vermont Day School’s 1st annual Spring Carnival was a huge success! Thank you to our families and teachers for making fun and creative booths and games for all to enjoy. A shout out to our Parent Committee for organizing the event, to the many local businesses for donating raffle items and to our Gold and Silver sponsors: Tapia & Huckabay, Dunkiel Saunders, Burton Snowboards, NFP Select Design, Stride Creative, Healthy Living, Vermont Roads and Fields, Smugglers Notch, and Vermont Federal Credit Union. The Carnival raised funds for our Financial Aid program and will help make Vermont Day School education more accessible to students in our community!

As part of their Astronomy unit, STEM students welcomed a guest presenter from the Vermont Astronomical Society, Jack St. Louis, last week. Students had the opportunity to launch rockets and view the sun’s surface features through a specially designed telescope.
