VDS Jog-a-thon Spirit!
The annual VDS Jog-a-thon took place on Friday, September 25th and was a wonderful event! PreK-8 students participated in a walk/run to raise funds for our outdoor education programs. Participants demonstrated stamina, school spirit, sportsmanship and kindness, as they cheered each other on! Thank you to all our VDS community members who volunteered, came out to support this fun event and supported our outdoor education fundraiser. Funds will support our outdoor education programs to Shelburne Farms, Hosmer Point and other nature and farm based excursions in the area!
October 18 – Fall Open House
Join us for our Fall Open House on Sunday, October 18th @ 3:00 pm for PreK-8th grade. Prospective families are encouraged to visit Vermont Day School to meet teachers, see classrooms and learn how Vermont Day School education can make a real difference in your child’s education! October 25 – Shelburne Halloween Parade
Join Vermont Day School at the Town of Shelburne Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 25th. After, be sure to check out all the fun festivities offered by the Charlotte- Shelburne and Hinesburg Rotary, including Halloween themed games and activities.
November 5 – Kindergarten Spotlight
Current Families are invited to attend our “Kindergarten Spotlight” on Thursday, November 5th. Meet with VDS Faculty & Staff to hear more about the seamless transition from VDS PreK to K. Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!
Hello! Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year. As we start our first week of school, our building is filled with familiar sights and sounds that are hallmarks of VDS: instruction informed by best practice, passion for learning, innovative thinking, eagerness to collaborate, and a strong sense of belonging and purpose. September 4 – First Friday Parent Coffee
All parents are invited to join us for the first Friday Parent Coffee of the school year on Friday, September 4th after morning drop off (8:00/8:15 am). Enjoy a cup of coffee and casual conversation with VDS staff and fellow parents!
September 4 – 2/3 STEM Field Trip to the La Platte
The STEM class is adventuring out on their first field trip of the school year with a visit to the La Platte Nature Area in Shelburne on Friday, September 4th. This will be a fitting kick-off for their exploration into the state of Vermont during STEM and Global Studies!
September 9 – VDS FIRST Lego League Begins
Wednesday, September 9th is the first meeting of the school year for the VDS FIRST Lego League team. We are excited to see this team work together on this year’s BioGlo challenge!
