The 4/5 class is leading our annual Food Drive to benefit the Shelburne Food Shelf from March 17-28. They are accepting donations every morning after drop off in the VDS front hall. Our school goal is to collect 765 of food and non-perishable items for our community!

We look forward to meeting with parents on Thursday 3/20 and Friday 3/21 . Conferences are a chance to discuss your child’s progress, ask questions and look ahead. Portfolios for K-8 students will be coming home, so please be sure to take a look. The portfolios are a way to document student learning throughout he course of the year. 4th-8th grade students are asked to join their conferences. On Friday, April 11th, the PreK-3rd grade will perform “Winnie the Pooh.” Students will be involved with all aspects of the play production, from learning lines, music and choreography, to designing the set and costumes. It is sure to be a wonderfully creative and heart warming play!

Hosted by BETA, The Young Inventors’ Program and Vermont Day School, the Vermont Invention Fair was a very inspiring event with 20 inventors from 6 schools participating. The Vermont Day School 4th-8th grade recently brought down the house with their sensational performance of “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory!” Students worked hard for this performance and created the set, costumes and choreography! Congrats to all the performers, and to our Music and Theater Director, Kendra Gratton!
