The VDS annual Gingerbread Festival is coming up on Friday, December 15th from 3:00-4:00 pm. This year’s theme: “Imagine the Future.” Come view the creative houses and enjoy treats with the VDS Community – hope to see you there!
December 20 – VDS Ski Club Parent Meeting
On Wednesday, December 20th, parents are invited to an informational meeting to learn more about the VDS Ski Program at Bolton Valley. VDS will run an after school ski/ride program at Bolton on Thursday afternoons from January to March. Check the newsletter for more information and come to our meeting to learn more! December 22 – Half Day & Pajama Day!
On December 22nd, VDS will have a half day of school; school will dismiss at 12:00 pm for 4th-8th grade and 12:15 pm for PreK – 3rd grade. Get cozy! It is also pajama day!
December 23 – January 1 – Winter Vacation
Vermont Day School is closed from December 23- January 1 for our Winter Vacation. Wishing our community a safe and joyous holiday season! We look forward to seeing your students again when school resumes on January 2.

VDS Apparel Store Now Open
Show your school spirit with VDS Apparel! Be sure to visit the VDS Apparel store before November 18th, as the store closes on this day. All items will arrive to VDS by mid-December. VDS merchandise makes great holiday gifts!
November 13-17 – Fall CLIC Week & Winter Clothing Swap
Fall CLIC Week is coming up! CLIC week is an acronym that stands for “Create, Learn, Innovate and Celebrate.” All students participate in a project with a unified theme. Past projects have included building a compost system for VDS, painting a mural with local artist Phoebe Lo and designing mosaic signs for our school. Stay tuned for details regarding this Fall’s CLIC week plans!
This week, the 8th grade leadership is also hosting a winter clothing swap! Please bring in winter clothing and boots that you are ready to give away. All donations will be displayed in the VDS front hall. Come take a look and see if there is anything that your family can use this season. All leftover items will be donated to Goodwill.
November 20-24 – Thanksgiving Vacation (no school)
Vermont Day School is closed November 20-24 for school vacation. We look forward to resuming school on Monday, November 27th!
December 1 – First Friday Parent Coffee
Stop by the VDS Community Room for some coffee and casual conversation after morning drop off on Friday, December 1st @ 8:00 am. Following the coffee, the Parent Committee will talk about upcoming opportunities to help out at school. All are welcome!
December 2 – Lego League Team Competition
Come cheer on the Vermont Day School Lego League Team at the regional FIRST competition on Saturday, December 2nd. The competition will take place at the Shelburne Community School. Contact us on the timing for this event!
December 7 – VDS Winter Concert @ Shelburne Town Hall
The VDS Community is invited to join us for our annual Winter Concert on Thursday, December 7th at 6:00 pm at the Shelburne Town Hall. All PreK-8 grade students will participate in the musical performance. Middle school students will host a bake sale for their winter outdoor education trip to Québec. We look forward to seeing you at this wonderful evening of music and community!
VDS Welcomes Grandparents & Friends!
On October 19th, Vermont Day School welcomed over 60 extended family members and friends to our school! Guests enjoyed coffee and baked goods, an all school musical performance, and had the chance to experience classroom activities with their special student! It was a wonderful morning, and we are grateful to our guests for traveling near and far to join us!
