We look forward to meeting with parents on Thursday 3/20 and Friday 3/21 . Conferences are a chance to discuss your child’s progress, ask questions and look ahead. Portfolios for K-8 students will be coming home, so please be sure to take a look. The portfolios are a way to document student learning throughout he course of the year. 4th-8th grade students are asked to join their conferences. April 4 – First Friday Parent Coffee
All parents are invited to join us in the Community Room for coffee and casual conversation after morning drop off. We look forward to seeing you then!
April 11 – Lower School Play
On Friday, April 11th, the PreK-3rd grade will perform “Winnie the Pooh.” Students will be involved with all aspects of the play production, from learning lines, music and choreography, to designing the set and costumes. It is sure to be a wonderfully creative and heart warming play!
April 15 – 18 – Middle School Trip to Maine
During March 15-18, VDS Middle Schoolers will embark on an ocean ecology trip to Ocean Park, Maine. Stay tuned for more details and photos to come!
VDS Co-Hosts Vermont Invention Fair
Hosted by BETA, The Young Inventors’ Program and Vermont Day School, the Vermont Invention Fair was a very inspiring event with 20 inventors from 6 schools participating. Upper School Performance of “Willy Wonka!”
The Vermont Day School 4th-8th grade recently brought down the house with their sensational performance of “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory!” Students worked hard for this performance and created the set, costumes and choreography! Congrats to all the performers, and to our Music and Theater Director, Kendra Gratton!

February 13 – Prospective Student Visit Morning
Prospective students who will be entering grades 4-8 in the Fall of 2025 are invited to visit Vermont Day School on Thursday, February 13th from 8:15 am – 12:00 pm. This is a great way to see what VDS is all about! Attend classes, get to know teachers and meet new friends! February 14 – STEM Project Share and Valentine’s Day
K-8 families are invited to our annual STEM Project Share on Friday, February 14th from 2:15 – 3:00 pm. This STEM Share is open house style and families are invited to walk around classrooms to see these impressive displays of learning. We hope to se you there! 
February 15 – Admissions & Tuition Assistance Applications Due
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are due February 15th for admissions and tuition assistance. Following this date, applications will be considering on a rolling basis, as space allows. February 24-28 – Winter Vacation
Vermont Day School will be closed the week of February 24-28 for winter vacation. If you reach out during this week, we look forward to being in touch when school resumes on Monday, March 3rd.
March 7 – Global Studies Project Share & First Friday Parent Coffee
“A Celebration of Winter” Music Concert
The Vermont Day School Community enjoyed a fabulous Winter Concert on December 12th at the Shelburne Town Hall. We enjoyed several instrumental pieces from our Upper School band, along with some holiday and winter themed classics. It was a fun and festive evening for our PreK-8 performers, their families, staff and guests!
