Whitaker Newton, VDS 2nd grader, was recently featured in several news publications, as the first Vermont participant at the U.S. National Invention Fair in Dearborn, Michigan. Whitaker and his original invention, the “Octo Ocean Vacuum” was a top contender at the Vermont Day School Invention Fair and the regional New England Fair at the University of New Hampshire. We are pleased to announce our new partnership with VYCC in Richmond, Vermont. For their year long service learning project, the VDS Middle School will visit the Vermont Youth Conservation Corp site to assist with seasonal projects. For their first visit of the school year, students helped with weeding and planting in the garden, and getting onions ready for Farm Shares.

It was so nice to have our school community together to kick off the new school year at Shelburne Beach! It was a beautiful evening in an idyllic setting to connect with new old and new friends. We are so excited for the year ahead and all that lies in store!
