Prospective families with rising 6th-8th graders are invited to attend our Middle School Open House on Saturday, February 3rd @ 3:00 pm. Come for a student tour of the building, talk to current parents, and meet our outstanding Faculty! Attending the Open House is a great introduction to Vermont Day School! Interested middle school students are also invited to attend VDS for a day on February 13th (9 am – 3 pm). All K-8 students in Vermont are invited to participate in the 2nd annual Vermont Invention Fair! More information can be found here. 

Is your child curious about what is is like to attend Vermont Day School? Now is there opportunity to find out! All rising 6th-8th graders are invited to join our middle school for a school day to experience VDS, attend classes, and meet students and teachers! Limited spaces are available. VDS students have the option of skiing or snowboarding after school at Bolton Valley from January – March. Our first afternoon of the Bolton after school ski/ride program is Thursday, January 4th. If you have questions about this program, please reach out to Sage Bagnato. Think snow!

Learn about the transition from PreK to K, and about all the academic and social emotional growth in store for your child at VDS! In honor of MLK, Jr. Day, Vermont Day School is partnering with two local organizations for community service projects. PreK-3rd grade students will make baked goods, home made cards and soap for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House in Burlington. The 4th-8th grade will visit Wake Robin in Shelburne to perform some excepts from their upcoming Annie, Jr. musical. We look forward to helping out our community members!

The VDS annual Gingerbread Festival is coming up on Friday, December 15th from 3:00-4:00 pm. This year’s theme: “Imagine the Future.” Come view the creative houses and enjoy treats with the VDS Community – hope to see you there!

On Wednesday, December 20th, parents are invited to an informational meeting to learn more about the VDS Ski Program at Bolton Valley. VDS will run an after school ski/ride program at Bolton on Thursday afternoons from January to March. Check the newsletter for more information and come to our meeting to learn more! On December 22nd, VDS will have a half day of school; school will dismiss at 12:00 pm for 4th-8th grade and 12:15 pm for PreK – 3rd grade. Get cozy! It is also pajama day!

Vermont Day School is closed from December 23- January 1 for our Winter Vacation. Wishing our community a safe and joyous holiday season! We look forward to seeing your students again when school resumes on January 2.
